The Heritage of Marton Meadows

Marton Meadows Golf Course was founded in 1998 by prominent local figure and lifelong farmer Tony Darbyshire (pictured alongside current owner Kyle Hares), on land he and his family had farmed for over 50 years and home to the renowned Darton herd of pedigree Guernsey dairy cows. The surrounding countryside continues to reflect this rural heritage, creating a peaceful and scenic setting for those enjoying a round of parkland golf in the Cheshire countryside.

Even today, elements of the course’s farming past remain. The building home to our golfing simulator was originally a potato shed, once used to store Tony’s harvest – a unique piece of history that adds to the character of Marton Meadows.

The club takes great pride in preserving its natural environment and heritage, while continuing to invest in the course and facilities for future generations of golfers.
